The sky, a desert in bloom A tapestry thread in a loom Interweaving the stars Kissing satellite scars In a world full of plastic plants You have to find a way to learn how to dance Around security guards In this house made of cards Square after square after square The endless rain falls into your hair Then a circle and a line And the stars realign A beam inside of a wall The children sit out in the hall A roof collapses from rain And the tears fall again The planet becomes an eye That looks like it’s going to cry And the tears fall again The roof collapses from rain But a beam holds up the wall And the children sit out in the hall Taught to fear and doubt And the night cries out Let me explain this to you slowly Social media will make you feel lonely They cut us apart and they sold us Now they’re passing the laws that will scold us Just for living outside the lines It feels like we’re losing our minds Yeah we’re living outside of the lines And it feels like we’re losing, losing, losing our minds

Well, my friends are gone and my hair is grey I ache in the places where I used to play And I'm crazy for love but I'm not coming on I'm just paying my rent every day in the Tower of Song I said to Hank Williams, how lonely does it get? Hank Williams hasn't answered yet But I hear him coughing all night long Oh, a hundred floors above me in the Tower of Song I was born like this, I had no choice I was born with the gift of a golden voice And twenty-seven angels from the Great Beyond They tied me to this table right here in the Tower of Song So you can stick your little pins in that voodoo doll I'm very sorry, baby, doesn't look like me at all I'm standing by the window where the light is strong Ah, they don't let a woman kill you, not in the Tower of Song Now, you can say that I've grown bitter but of this you may be sure The rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor And there's a mighty judgment coming, but I may be wrong You see, you hear these funny voices in the Tower of Song Now I bid you farewell, I don't know when I'll be back They're moving us tomorrow to that tower down the track But you'll be hearing from me baby, long after I'm gone I'll be speaking to you sweetly from a window in the Tower of Song

about

Ceiling Tiles is the new single from Portland, Oregon band Sun Atoms. Mixed by Jagz Kooner (Massive Attack, Primal Scream, Oasis, Garbage). The song, written around Peter Holmstrom’s compelling baseline, follows a group of characters that animate to life off of a deck of tarot cards. The song is an amalgamation of new colors in psychedelic, dark wave, and post-modern pop. The song explores a dreamy netherworld peeling away under the heartbeat like a synthesized glove. It is a cautionary tale of a possible dystopian future, some of which is already materializing- right now before our eyes. We follow the characters of the song into a mirror where they live outside of the lines under a faux sky, only to find the planet itself is an eye, crying rain. Do they make it through the maze of plastic plants and security guards and get the message out in order to light up the world? Listen and keep an eye out for this first single on beautiful 7” vinyl soon from Little Cloud Records. The full LP to follow later in Spring.
